    Paul,

This reminds me of the first moon shot: Everyone around the world, including us former Alice Springs residents, is looking at the screen for an email from you. Glad to hear from you via audioblog that all’s well. Please double check the not- so-little things. Glad to read you have a second set of oxygen equipment. Well done! Hope to hear in the next few hours that you are on your way to Camp 4 and the weather is nice & calm. You go, guy!

    Dear Paul
All the best for the climb ahead. Fiona we are thinking of you as well and know that there will not be much sleep for anyone over the next couple of nights. Has anyone set up a business replacing the ‘Refresh’ key on overused keyboards?

Oooh Paul, you’re on your way now!! I’m so excited for you. Climb well, rest well and enjoy the whole thing….thinking of you Fiona and how hard it must be right now for you. I hope you can have at least a little sleep. With love, Jacqueline x

    Hi Paul,
Things are hotting up for you at the business end of this year. Hope it keeps you warm! All the best to you and Attila when you make your final push. (I’ll be light peering over your shoulder!) Am watching and waiting for more news. Climb carefully and stay safe. Enjoy the view! Fiona hope the waiting is ok – so close and yet so far from Paul.
All the best on the day.

    Paul:

Way to go making it to Camp 3, safe and sound! What were the conditions like on the Lhotse Face this time? How did you do time-wise compared to your last climb up? I hope you are enjoying a well-deserved rest (as best you can in those conditions!) and getting plenty of fluids. We are checking the posts constantly waiting for news!! Good luck!

Paul’s Everest Climb 2007

In 2007, Paul returned to climb Mt Everest after missing out on reaching the summit by 100 metres the previous year. In 2006, Paul and Fiona both climbed together and although Fiona successfully summited, problems with Paul's oxygen system forced him to turn around. On 23 May 2007, exactly a year to the day later, he reached the summit. This is the daily blog from this climb.
