New audio update from TA and the WOKies.

This is the text of TA’s audio message:

Hi this is TA calling in from Serengeti day 2, and what a day it was.  Our day began very early with just a cup of coffee and a few biscuits before heading out on our early morning game drive.  The birds where out in magnificent numbers, we actually spread our Land Rovers into: birders, not birders, and birder wannabe’s, so people could pay attention to whatever they wanted to pay attention too…

It was lovely to be out in the early morning, we got to see a Violet Breasted Roller, which is a pretty exciting thing, and of course the Secretary Birds and numerous kinds of Eagles and Starlings and birds like that.  We also saw several Cheetahs this morning, Lions, Zebras, Giraffes, Wildebeest, Warthog, and those amazing animals that have taught us the alphabet throughout our lives…

We came in for a wonderful amazing brunch with a frittata, then siesta time for a few hours in the middle of the day, during the hottest part of the day when the animals tend to be least active.  We then headed back out at 2 for our second 5 hour game drive, exploring a different region of the park, ending up at a most amazing Hippo pool which had about 100 Hippo’s in it, all cavorting, and spraying, and belching, and burping, and doing all those kinds of things Hippos do.  Most folks don’t realize that Hippos are actually the most dangerous African animal; you do not want to get between a Hippo and its water.

We are continuing to have a fabulous time; we celebrated our good fortunes today with some Champaign.  We continue to laugh a lot, sing a lot, and enjoy our lives as the WOKies…not only of Kilimanjaro, but also as the Wildebeests of the Serengeti as well.

We are up tomorrow for another game drive, as we start driving to N’GoronGoro crater...thanks for keeping us all in your thoughts…and we will be in touch again real soon.
