Shoot for the moon TA

My quote of encouragement for the day:

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do"
- Eleanor Roosevelt

Stay in that moment

TA,
I've only met you once but you've got me hooked. The first thing I do each morning is read or listen to your message.

Remember your own words today. Asking why doesn't help when we are in the midst of difficulties, no matter what they are. Just be in that moment. That is all that you have to deal with.

I haven't climbed physical mountains (except for Gros Morne - you may laugh- when I experienced that feeling as I looked up at more boulders to be climbed), but I have climbed many inner ones. My life experiece has convinced me that while it's philosopically interesting in an armchair to explore the whys of life such rumination gets me nowhere when I'm in the thick of it.

You've been on the mountain top before. I'm sure you're going to do it again. You have such an open and beautiful spirit. The freedom to cry is a wonderful blessing and strength.

In spirit,
Lorraine

good to hear your voice, ta.

good to hear your voice, ta. you've got all you need to get you where you need to be. keep breathing deep! holding you in the light. bpt

TA as channel to the Earth

Hey you! I hear that things are challenging up there. I love you and believe in you. As I understand it, life is process not product. Welcome to more of the process. All you can ever do is slightly more than your best. Just remember not to break yourself in the meantime.
much love from 1000s of meters below.

Encouragement

Hi TA,

I am very happy to hear that you are feeling better health-wise and have reached camp 2. It was very good to hear your voice on the audio link. I think of you often, pray for you daily with my kids (Allison, Bethany, Timothy and Benjamin) and just want to send this little note of encouragement. You are in our thoughts and prayers ... for good health, good weather and that all other conditions come together that you need to reach your goal(s).

Respectfully,
Peter

"Ain't no mountain high enough ?"

Hi TA,

I've been following your trek like many others and you've become a big part of my day. I look forward to your updates with great anticipation.

I had to laugh when I read Lorraine's comment on climbing Gros Morne. I have a terrible fear of heights. I remember climbing on a ladder up 6 feet when I was a kid and I had to get my Dad to talk me down. A few years ago I went to Colorado and drove up Pikes Peak (I think that was it's name) with some friends. Halfway up they stopped the car so I could get out of the passenger front seat and sit in the middle of the back seat. I was terrified. I made it to the top with my eyes closed and my heart pounding. I look at your pictures and my fear gets triggered each time.

I may even try and get to Gros Morne and hike it this summer in your honor!
Thanks for your courage....

I know you'll make it! We're all rooting for you!
cheers

Truthful and Inspiring

Thanks TA for being so candid and truthful. So often we only see superficial reports. I feel your words not only tell us what you are doing, but show us what you are feeling. Your posts are not only informative but inspiring. I wish you the best on your journey and hope it takes you where you intended. I'll be watching (and listening) with anticipation.
All My Best,

Your gift

I was having a kind of challenging day (granted, nowhere near the challenges of being at Camp 2 Everest).....but wanting to experience the emotions fully, I decided to make a list of everything I'm thankful for. I discovered that I have a great big list and it helped alot to write it down and see it. Of course, I thought about you, TA. I'm so thankful for you, and for the courage you've shown in overcoming the gazillion challenges you've encountered so far. Also, for sharing your experiences with us so deeply and honestly. It's been a powerful thing to be part of. Know that you continue to inspire us in EVERY possible way and remember to be kind to yourself, too - honouring all that you've been through on this journey. You're close in thought - always! Sending you an abundance of love and healing and energy your way.....Penny

Encouragement

HI TA, I've been following since the beginning and have been sending thoughts and prayers for strength, courage and safety your way daily. Keep it up. "It" is your dreams, your ability to look into yourself and your spirit. Your bravery to keep putting one step ahead of the other and breathe, breathe. The thoughts of many are with you. Jean (Tichick)

Base Camp soon

Soon you will return to BC and it will be like a breath of fresh air, you will have time to recover and regroup your positive thoughts. You have had moments like these before and remember this time will pass. Find someone at the camp with whom to share your time as idle time leaves time for the mind to play games.
Cheers Roger

I am inspired!

As trite as it now seems I became a member of this forum just to say: Way to Go!
I heard you this AM on CBC and had to check this out. You inspire, and my daily grind seems a little mundane. Know that those of us following your journey from way down here are feeling for you and willing your success with every means we have.

Soon you get to rest!

TA, you are doing great! It's OK to be emotional from time to time. Keep hanging in there and soon you'll get some rest and recovery time.

Safe climbing
Sandra

Inspiring...as usual!!!

hi TA
things sound tough but not only did you make it this far, you found the strength to tell the whole world about it and to share your self-doubts. That takes true courage and that is what makes you such a special person!! I hope you feel better and stronger tomorrow and take comfort in the fact that so many are rooting for you!! Remeber , as someone wise once said, 'it is not about getting to the top , but about the journey along the way!!'
love and best wishes
Nancy

TA= TOUGH AS= TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!

hi . hang in there ! let your body acclimatise: thats what this first climb to camp 2 is for. lohtse face can wait if you dont feel up to it. you are doing great!
cheers[ken.n.z.]

Thanks for being real

Wow, I love your candor, TA! It's refreshing to hear an honest perspective of how grueling it really is to climb the highest mountain in the world. Anyone who thinks Everest is a cake walk is in for a rude awakening. Even the trek to Base Camp can be brutal. I admire your guts and willingness to bare all. Thanks for letting us glimpse your reality.

You're doing great

You are doing great! It does not matter how high you get, you're inspiration to us all. You inspire me to to keep push along with my "everest". Remember, one step at a time, that's all you can take. And yes, tears are great! Thinking about you and sending positive thoughts.

One day one step

Hi TA,
Sounds as if it is very hard to put all of the things going on in some kind of perspective. It must be very hard, and crying is good.(as long as you keep drinking as you cry!)
Chin up!

Good Luck!

Hi! I can't believe you are climbing Mount Everest! It must be pretty cold up there! Good Luck!

WOW!

Hello TA! I think you are really brave to be climbing the biggest mountain in the world! Good luck!
P.S- What are crampons?

Natalie Griffin!

Mount Everest

Hi TA! I just want to tell you that I think you are really brave to be climbing the biggest mountain in the world...which is Mount Everest of course! You must have a lot of determination to do it! Most people wouldn't be as brave as you! It must be cold up on the mountain, I guess you have to dress really warm. Good luck with the rest of your climb!
