Today was my second Super Work Out to raise those funds for Opération Enfant Soleil.

With this activity, I'm just $400 away from my goal. I still have a few more weeks to go. I think I can get more than what my objective was to start with.

All those supportive people you see on the pictures are my regular students, my friends and members of my family. They are all so kind and helpful! I was so happy to see them today and feeling their energy made me know that they are all behind me on this big project...Climbing Kilimanjaro!

Questions and concerns.

They asked questions about difficulties I will encounter on the climb and they also told me to be safe and careful. This man from Quebec died last week on Kilimanjaro because of acute mountain sickness and we heard a lot about it in the newspaper. My friends were scared and concerned because when these things happens, it's a reminder of all the things that can go wrong on the mountain.

I am concerned too, and I tried to reassure them but I know what the possibilities are. I just hope I'll be able to turn around on time if anything goes wrong or if I don't acclimatize well enough.

Wonderful time.

On a happier note, we had a wonderful time working out this morning. The class went from 10 am to 11:30. This location is where I teach every week. We had regular aerobics (hi/lo) to start with, then we did some "step" and we finished the class with some muscle toning and stretching. I think people enjoyed it as much as I did!!!

During the class, I played funny by telling them that if they were out of breath right now, imagine what I would encounter for 6 days...

Talk to you soon,

Aeronik :o)

Health and safety over a summit

Hi Aeronik
I too had read the very sad story of Marcel Bujold who was raising money for CARE with his climb of Kili. It always has to be in the back of our minds to pay attention to our health and the first sign of AMS, we need to turn around. Even though it will be in the back of my mind, I plan to try and enjoy every moment of my climb. Keep up the great work; raising money and training!

Good philosophy

I like the way you're thinking. That's exactly that type of minding I'm working on. Enjoying the moment but still stay responsible on the mountain! I know that it's there (the possibility), but I mean, it's also everywhere... but I don't want to be stressed out and think about it all the time. I want to trust my feelings, my body and God will guide me for the rest...

Thank you MC!
