Hi!
Thanks for the message, what a wonderful morning greeting. We arrived safe and sound last night. It is warm and sunny here. Today we are going into the village to shop for souveniers then tonight we will get our bags ready for tomorrows climb. The mountain is beautiful but cloud covered right now. From the hotel it looks manageable, i'm sure that will change as we get closer. I showered today Erin so I am fresh and clean! I hope everyone is doing well. I will write after I climb.
Love & kisses,
Mom

Africa

We have had a wonderful day learning about the culture - we are very lucky! The hotel is nice - a swim will feel good tonight! 85 degrees. The mountain is lovely. Moshi is a small town by our standards - our guides helped us to shop for presents today! Goats roam the street and the ruts in the roads are deep. Houses made of mud and scraps. The school was small and they have no screens on the windows. We have had 2 traditional meals - yummy. Only use the journeysofinspiration.com address - not the climbers@journeys... adress.

We start hiking tommorow, the day starts with a bumpy 5 hour ride. Then we set out. So you will not hear from us again for a few days. Know we love you and miss you LOTS!

Say hello to every one for us.

Love ya!

Aubrey and teagan

We love you so much!

Mom and Dad

PS, next time you write please ad your names in the subject line. It helps.

Thanks!

It's absolutely breathtaking and looks doable. Got briefed on the climbs this morning. Our guide is an African named Tom. Going into town this afternoon. Picked up a couple of nice patches already. I've got to become one with this mountain to climb it. It has a feeling that I must mesh with. Love you always. Will communicate when I can.

Message to Laurel Baker re: My friend, Christy!

Hello Laurel!

My name is Doris and I was (and will always be in my heart) a friend of Christy McCall. I met Christy in May 2007 when she hired me to help with some organizing challenges (I am the owner of A Place for Everything, an organizing services company). We immediately became friends and had so much fun 'decluttering'! In the short time that I got to know Christy, I realized what a compassionate, caring, inspirational young woman she was. I truly miss her.

I have remained close with her family and it was through her aunts Judy that I learned of your journey - and that Christy was going along for the ride! What a thrill. Bless you for your perserverance, strength, and courage! And, thank you so much for keeping Christy's memory alive and the banner flying for those who continue to fight the battle!
We're all anxious to celebrate Christy's birthday on Tuesday, Feb. 26th!
Good luck and safe climbing!

Doris A.

Kili Climb

Hello Bonnie Stacy, Jeff and all

Great to hear from you. The Lemosho and Rongai groups left today. Little bit jealous that they are starting today and we must wait until tomorrow. We get our Machame prep meeting at 9:30 this AM. The food has been pretty good. Went into Moshi yesterday to shop and go to a restaurant. Very sobering to see the poverty levels there. Very thankful I live in USA. Love to everyone. Thank you for thinking of me.
