This is a shot of me at the South Col on May 22 as we prepared to descend to C2. I opted not to go on oxygen as I wanted to see how I would feel at 8000 m without it, turns out not great initially but as I descended things improved.
Eatting deep fried spam at C2,
hmmmm... good! I sure don't get to enjoy this fatty snack at home that often.
We walked 25 km from BC to Deboche our first day out and were met by trees, grass and blossoms. The air smelt wonderful. ( And we were pretty tired when we got there. )
It's May 29 and Scott and I just returned from a spicy Thai dinner. Tomorrow I am going to try and fly standby to Hong Kong, so this could be my last night in Nepal. I need to leave Kathmandu ASAP as I have become addicted to Fanta pop and Pringles chips in the last few days. If I lost 20 pounds in the last 2 months I have already put 10 back on! Again, eatting is one of my expedition strenghts.
So, I've done my "Du" errands; resupplied my First Aid Kit with cheap Indian drugs, bought some gifts, written postcards, eatten way too much, spent far too much time in the bookstores of Thamel...I'm ready to go home. Unfortunately, not everyone is back in Kathmandu yet, so if I make it out tomorrow I will have to say "au revoir" electronically to some folks.
I will continue to post more photos and thoughts from Canada.

Your good bud
