Have arrived in Phakding after flight from Kathmandu to Lukla...which was an experience in itself. The flight itself was our first glimpse of the mountains...beautiful sunny day which really helped to see how high these mountains are. The landing in Lukla was hair raising however and very glad to see the pilot stop at the end of the runway or else a concrete wall wouldve stopped us instead! We then set out for a 2.5 hour walk to where we are now at Phakding. Overcast weather greeted us half way thru the walk and could feel altitude as we have walked upto bout 2800m. The air is noticeable cleaner however the yak dung is far more prevalent. The track is fairly crowded in this section but not too bad that its annoying.
