Carol here, Pat just called and reported that he was on the summit (@9:30am Nepal time).
They departed @9:30pm on Wed night. He said it was a beautiful morning but very cold and windy. He couldn't talk much as he was on oxygen and the winds were high. I asked if they had all summited and he said he thought yes. He said Mikey was there with him.
Wendy, I wish I had your number to call you but maybe you will see this post. Pat will be reporting with an audio blog when he returns to Camp 4 or lower. Thanks to everyone for your support & all your well wishes to Pat and me. I'm off to bed for a better sleep than I've had in a few days! Thank you God!

Climbing machine!
sarah — Thu, 05/24/2007 - 13:45Jill, Dallas, TX
Pat, you amaze me! You are a climbing machine! Nevermind ALL the obstacles that you faced - wind, cold, oxygen mask, being a little over age 30, etc., etc. - nothing seemed to faze you - just "we went to this camp or that" - "we're headed for the summit" - almost just like (yawn) another day at the office! No wonder you just completed the 7 summits! All I can say is "I tip my hat" to you, sir! And, if I ever need a good nurse I'll bet I know who to call!!!
Incredible relief

My prayers will continue to surround you as you descend to a more healthy level. Be safe. Lots of love and support, Kay Ball RN

Good luck with the final decent to BC and just think you will be with Wendy soon and then home to all the kids.
Good on you Pat and thank you for your wonderful blogs and keeping us in touch.
