I am visiting with Paul Adler at present here in Kathmandu and will be doing a quick post of this message to test the system before I hit the trail tomorrow.

I love the picture and the proposal was another story I didn't know or forgot along the way. Bill was "greetings from VA", he just chimed in from work, came home and told me all about the blog site without realizing I had been keeping in touch. I thought he had all along but from work and that he knew I was. We'll sign Bill or Michele from now on. Keep on posting and take care, Michele

I work for a technology company but I certainly have a lot to learn regarding how to take advantage of all the technology you are utilizing!!
Daryl and I are going to our new home in VA today so we won't be able to keep up with your posts until I return to PA on Tuesday as we won't have internet access in VA until April 6.
Don't post any April Fool's jokes that will concern us!! I know how much you like to use humor!!
I am also reading "Into Thin Air" to have a better perspective of what you will be experiencing and learn about the geography(?) of the mountain.
I'll tell Mom that you need lots of chocolate chip cookies when you get back to Columbia!!

Hey Joan:

I'm learning this technology as I go and am excited to be able to share the adventure through posting text, pictures, and audio! I forgot it was April 1st ... normally I would have taken advantage of this day to pull a prank on someone... I guess that there is still a few hrs. left :>)

I am hoping that lots of folks will be much more knowledgeable about mountaineering after this is all over. It does help that your reading the book as the terminology will be easier to understand! If you go to Paul's blog you can download google earth and then open an interactive map of the route on Mt. Everest ... cool stuff!

Enjoy your time in Virginia ... and tell your Mom to start baking those cookies!

Pat, what exactly does "hitting the trail" mean. Do you walk from where you are? Truck in? When do you actually join your climbing team? What's your current altitude? That was a great story about proposing to your wife-I didn't know that-I thought you won her playing poker. David
