Currently in a lodge in Monzu. We trekked from Phakding to here which is a 3 hour walk up more slopey track. The scenery was fantastic working how way through the forrest and our first glimpse of a 7000m peak which I’m not sure tha name is but the views were stunning. The trek was beautiful but when arrived the case of the runs hit hard and I’ve been tooing and frowing from bedroom to loo. I guess the bok choy didn’t agree last night! Feeling very sick and hoping it will pass by tomorrow morning when we trek upto Namche Bizarre. The local Nepalese are a very kind and welcoming people. I cannot stress enough how well they are treating us.
When in Namche we will have a days rest and I will send photos proper. Sorry bout that.
For time being its back to bed (or the loo) and I will write more bout the trek so far.
Thankyou for all ur msgs - they have been great to read.It Certainly helps knowing there are people watching and supporting.

Day of Rest....
kand2412 — Thu, 10/11/2007 - 05:37Hi there HB.....
Thanks for the text messages...I really appreciate them and love hearing from you...even if they are at 5am!!
I've just been reading through the intinerary and I'm wondering how you're feeling after a day of rest in Namche Bazaar. Did you get to do any sight seeing or have you simply rested and enjoyed the break? What's it like there? It sounds interesting and really pretty. Is it what you expected?
What was it like to have your first view of Everest and are you still thinking about climbing it????
How are you coping with the altitude?
Things here are pretty good. The bathroom is looking fantastic and will hopefully be finished over the weekend. I still have all the doors to paint in the back room and I'm hoping to have this done this week as well....no rest for the wicked, isn't that what they say!!
I thought this might make you laugh.....I played tennis on Tuesday night and didn't really have a very good night....I hit the woman on the next court when I was serving ....what a der brain!! It was very funny...I really should just retire.
Anyway, I hope you're feeling a little better after a bit of rest and look forward to hearing from you.
Take care and look after yourself....
KA xoxo
