Last night almost the entire group summitted. Deb had to turn around at 17,000 feet after an unbelievable effort and the rest made it. They stuck together despite how hard those last, cold hours were. All are now safe and on Wed return to the land of internet and hot showers.
This will be our last post but the group will now be able to individually look at your blogs and respond so go ahead and blog these guys. They were awesome!
If you would like to let others know, on Monday, 40 cancer supporters will be posting live from Africa also. Someday I hope to see each of you in Africa, Nepal, North America....so many places to explore in the world. Feel free to drop me an email if you are interested in an adventure sometime.
Thanks again for your love and support. That is what is most important in all our lives. It is what allows us the freedom to search out the high places in the world.
Yours in adventures of life,
Rick

Paul Adler — Tue, 02/19/2008 - 18:45Hi everyone with JOI.
Truly excellent reading about your adventure as it unfolded and well done to all who made it and also to those that tried their very best. The mountain will still be there for you to give it another go sometime.
I climbed Kilimanjaro with my wife, Fiona, in 2002 and I remember that it was not easy becuase we didn't have much time to acclimatise. It was also cold for us on the summit as well. So well done done again.
