group at Kala PatarWow, the high of the trip!  Kala Patar at 18,500 feet gave us quite the climb.  From its summit we looked down on Everest Base Camp.  From there we could trace the famous Khumbu Ice fall till it disappeared.  Beyond it, the South Col at 26,000 feet lead all there way to the summit. In  every direction were more peaks and glaciers.  We passed more memorials.  The drama of the scenery matched the human drama and we felt it.

Glad to hear you are doing well, and that you are climbing mountains for the most important of reasons...that they are there.
Stay safe.

Way to go Chris! Almost as high as we were on Kili. Hope everyone is feeling good but I know every step down will feel better. Be careful on the down climb.

Oh Lis! What a mission you have been on to the top of the world! I can only imagine the view, the way the air must feel, the dark royal of the sky. Does your voice sound a little different at that altitude? Ron and I thought ours did on Cotapaxi at 14K. Sounds like the weather is better at Mt.Everest; don't get any ideas about overstaying! We are getting a lot of very slippery snow tonight; the ER is full and we still have 3 kids travelling ;-) Love you, Nancy etc.

Hi Gaylinn and Frank

I spent some time online reading about/looking at Lobuche and Kala Patar-gave me a better perspective on where you are - awesome and inspiring....and you are there! Wonderful that you are all there safely. I can't imagine what it must be like up there,
but look forward to hearing about it all when you return.
Blessings-Pat
