Gary in front of Everest at 17,500 feet, Renjo La PassVery tough and dramatic day.  Up at 4:30 and hiking before dawn. Over 3,000 feet of uphill in 5 hours brought to an amazing view of 4 8,000 meters peaks including Everest. 3 more hours of downhill took us to a few lodges next to a large turquoise lake at 15,600 feet.  We are all feeling the stress of the day.  Hopefully a rest will re-supply us with oxygen.

Remember the ritual you gave me to do before my surgery and chemo? Keep that in mind! We all need a little ritual!

Regarding the O2. JUST BREATHE! (I can't wait to hear the nitty gritty... and I hope you are taking pictures!)

What a day you all must have had traversing Renjo-La Pass. Been checking the trekking routes to determine your route more specifically. Can't wait to hear about the incredible views of four 8,000 m peaks and, of course, the challenge in getting there and back. Here's hoping sleep was restorative and benefits of 14,300 air have re-energized you all.

Hope your doing well and enjoying the view. Mel and I are great and can't wait to hear about every step of the trip. We have had three days of snow and average temp 28. How cold is it there??? Hope you are staying warm. Love Mark

Namaste Maura!

first of all about 'lu' - in case you are worrying he is not well looked after ... and now that mum n dad have been let in on his adventures .... he is having a trek of his lifetime too ....

friends called in "the mighty mighty 'local' boy" - who boasts of previous experience in dealing with such issues in the 'wild' - and the team successfully manged to radio-collar your tom!

guess no one realised at the time he is lot smarter than matata, cassius n kabochi put together .... sorry to advise you .... he has completely disappeared off the radar ... poor tmmlb ... has tirelessly been driving around watertown in his jeep with an antenna & receiver ... without any luck! absolutely nothing ... except some pug marks heading towards kumbhu!

local contact in thamel - kathmandu confirms reservations have been made in the name of 'reddy l/mr' on board the first yeti air flight out to lukla tomorrow!

enjoy gokyo ... while you can! take care, love - team 'x'

What a day~
i can't even imagine the beauty, the feeling must be one of AWE that is so over powering that you wonder how we humans live in the wonder of it all every day and don't see it.
I'm wondering how everyone is appreciating their bodies! The vehicle that has been able to manuever you to this place!
I hope you all rested well!
Love,
Terry Ann

Hi Chris. Trying to keep track of you. We're following along with the prnted schedule and you appear to be 1 day behind because of the extra layover in Kathmandu. The turquoise lake sounds beautiful. Hope you took a LOT of pictures. How has this day compared to Kili? Are you going Pole, Pole? ;-) Probably not since Rick is leading, not Stanley ;-) Do you miss Stanley now ;-)

Love MOM and Carroll
