Every October since my mom, Denise, was diagnosed with breast cancer, I have run the Race for the Cure in her honour. I vividly remember the first time I wrote her name on my race bib. Happy Midsummer’s Night’s Eve,
I know it’s been awhile since I wrote. It always seemed that Sunday evening snuck up on me and I was out of gas to write. The past few weeks have been filled with dental surgery, the start of teaching for the summer term, and training for Pumori. After an amazing morning in the Ngorogoro Crater watching lions hunt, feed, and mate, seeing the elusive black rhino, and sending more WOKie love to the wildebeests, we have returned to Arusha. We were all bushed by the early morning and long drive.
Leslie, Abigail, and Marian are already in Dar es Saalam, and Karen and Nancy start flying towards home tonight. Ann Marie heads for South Africa in the morning and the rest of us start flying tomorrow night.&nb
