my dream of everest

im 14 and i have been dreaming of climbing Everest since i was 13. I just now started training and im hoping if i can keep it up ill be able to start getting funding and be on my way by the time im 16 or 17. My goal is to be the youngest girl to ever climb Mt. Everest. I know that the youngest girl is 18, im hoping i can beat her record.

Dream of youngest girl to summit Everest

Ming Kipa Sherpa became the youngest girl to summit Mt. Everest at 15 years of age on May 22, 2003.

You may be thinking of Samantha Larson. She successfully reached the summit of Everest on May 17th, 2007 at the age of 18 and is now the youngest person to have climbed the Seven Summits. Her web-site is here (pretty cool site).

Being the youngest girl (excluding the native Sherpa people) to summit Mt. Everest is a great goal (climbing Everest in of itself is a phenomenal goal)! Research, ask questions, learn mountaineering skills, train hard, get some good high altitude experience, market yourself and you will be on your way. wow that kinda stinks that the youngest is 15... but thats good for her! yeah i was thinking about samantha larson.. maybe ill the 2nd youngest to successfully climb mt. everest.. oh well i still want to do it before i turn 20.. : )

It is interesting that Wikipedia and many other publications state that Samantha is the youngest person to complete the 7 summits (both lists) but her web-site does not show Denali. Maybe it is not updated.
