New audio update from TA and the WOKies.

This is the text of TA’s audio message:

Hi this is TA calling in from Simba camp above N’Gorongoro crater, we are on our last night of safari, and we can hardly believe it.  The trip is rapidly coming to an end and we’re not quite ready for it.  We will focus on the amazing day we have ahead of us tomorrow and the amazing day we just had.

But first we would like to challenge you to a bit of a quiz…and we have a prize if anyone can match our mountain names with our animal totems…So for those of you who might have missed them our mountain names are: ‘Boga’, ‘Graceful Tart’, ‘Tailwind’, ‘Mountain Momma’, “Pit-Bull’, ‘Sweep’, ‘Heidi’, ‘Code-a-Chrome’, ‘Vitamin K’, and ‘Mojo’…And in no particular order here are our animal totems from the Serengeti safari: Cheetah Gazelle, Warthog, Hartebeest, Colobus Monkey, Secretary Bird, a Lion in a Zebra body, a little Bat, Giraffe, and Lilac Breast Roller.  So send me an email from the website if you think you can match the mountain nickname with the animal totem from the Serengeti…

Tonight at our camp site we’ve actually had some competition for the most boisterous group…it seems another group has eyes on being the loudest…we continue to receive compliments on how much fun we are having and how much fun we are to watch.

The biggest thing about our day today was a bit of a long drive, worth every moment of it over a bouncy, bouncy road, to see the Wildebeest migration.  It was amazing to see Wildebeest coming and going, running rapidly across the road, basically I don’t have words to describe it but there was Wildebeests everywhere that we looked.  It instantly brought tears to my eyes to see these animals in migration.  We also spent a bunch of time watching 5 Lions, that had just had a kill of a Wildebeest, and waiting around for their just reward.  Lots more Zebras today, and a bunch of Giraffes…

As we drove back to the Serengeti through the N’Gorongoro conservation area, seeing of course the Masi folks, in their bright red blankets standing out against the yellow landscape.  Tonight some of us even received instructions on how to wear the Masi blankets that we’ve purchased as souvenirs.

So another amazingly full day here in the Seringeti.  Tomorrow we get up very early to head down into the N’Gorongoro crater, and then we are back in Arusha tomorrow night, and then we will rapidly be saying goodbye to some team members the next morning.  Can’t believe our adventure is nearing its end but we won’t be talking about that till at least the day after tomorrow.

Hope you had a good one…

Talk to you soon
