LOCATION: Karranga Camp, 13.000 feet, 6 hours walking, warm when sunny, cool when cloudy.
The group successfully navigated the wall. Below Sharon the cliffs drops off 800 feet. No worries though mates. The group literally extended many hands and all are safe and hours later calm. The is a little altitude issues going around that sleep should fix. All are looking like serious mountain travelers now and as this is our last water for two days, also smell that way. We love it though.
Loving your comments, reminder, this amazing post is brought to you via a 3 x 4 inch palm pilot and solar charged satellite phone which limits our internet abilities to posting to you this post. So if that is a shortfall, sorry, catch on the ground.

rockymilo — Sat, 02/21/2009 - 14:54I am in awe. There is something so spiritual in knowing that the lowest point in your lives brought you to the highest point in your lives with your strength and determination and just by being you. Keep climbing, Baby. Love, Nancy

Bonnie, every time I update Mom on your climb she says, "I don't know why she wants to climb a mountain, can't she find something to do around here?" Ha Ha, you're all CRAZY! Have a great time. Can't wait to see the view from the top. Love to all,

LAllen — Sat, 02/21/2009 - 16:15Now Rick, I'm sure the ladies are looking good and smelling just fine. Remember we pack differently. There are some secret tip's we 08' ladies left behind. Like how to keep your fingernails clean etc. Enjoy every step even though it may be difficult. Just think at how far you have come. Thinking of all of you.

PSymanski — Sat, 02/21/2009 - 20:30I can't believe how close you are!!! You are going to make it!!! I can't imagine what it must be like for you today... being so close to something you have worked and trained so hard for. I wish I could be there to take a picture of you when you take that last step and realize you did it. Enjoy the moment and know we are here applauding your every step. Relay News ... Green Island Gaudy Gala was last night. The Bourgeois Family really know how to throw a party. Everyone had a great time. Taking the portraits was a lot of fun. I got to spend some time with Tina Gleason and Loretta Haberman. Nice to get to know them better. And, of course, Joan and her family were there with BIG Smiles. We were talking about you and your journey and sending you good wishes. Can't wait for the next Post!!! Be well and hang in there! Paula

DesisMom — Sat, 02/21/2009 - 20:30Oh, boy, you're definitely getting your money's worth. This little adventure ought to hold you over at least a year. The more you do, the more you become addicted to adventure. It probably doesn't feel that way now, but it will later.
After my first trip to India I practically kissed the ground to be back home. But then I had so many enriching memories that I wanted to go back and still do. Instead of quilt shopping today Ilse and I went out to lunch and then to my favorite store -- the Brookline Bookstore! This has been a great vacation for me and I haven't even left Brookline!
Anyone want to get married on this fabulous mountain?!
Jim and Bonnie 08 — Sat, 02/21/2009 - 21:00Hello all,
Hey - We have heard that this amazing mountain can have unusual powers on people, such as putting them in the mood to get married!!!! So, we just wanted to mention that; and let you know that if that urge should push you in that direction, Rick is considered captain of the mountain. So, no problem . . . .he can just perform the ceremony on the summit! Matt and Yusef would be more than happy to dress up as the bride's maids . . . .be sure and send us THAT picture! Maybe some of the couples climbing right now would like to have Rick perform a renew your vows ceremony! The dresses may not show up for that one.
Seriously, we are thinking so much about everyone today and send you our prayers for a safe journey, wherever it takes you today!
Our love and prayers . . . .Jim and Bonnie

louiseradak — Sun, 02/22/2009 - 02:38I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do this again, but Barbara walked me through it. Loved the picture of you and have really enjoyed following your progress. I can't even begin to imagine walking a ledge that drops 800 feet right beside me. You seem to have a great group. I pray for you every day and know that this is the adventure of a lifetime. Makes the ironman look pale in comparison. Have enjoyed HH. Met your dad, Mary and Reed for lunch on Thursday. Had a nice time. Love you Love you Love you.

barbara pflaumer — Sun, 02/22/2009 - 19:39Hi Sharon - I don't know if it's the same for you, but it feels like your trip is going by very fast. Hope that you are successful on your summit attempt today - what a fabulous experience. Are you already wondering what you will do next??? I am making a presentation tomorrow to a Fashion Marketing class at Drexel. I always think I was just in college - but now that I have a child in college, I guess I have to stop fooling myself. :-) Stay safe. Love, Barb

Hi Phil and Marty!
karenklass — Sun, 03/22/2009 - 05:46Congratulations! Though you haven't heard from me before, I've been in awe of what you've been doing. Have followed your journey intermittently when I wasn't spending time teaching in Israel and getting to Petra in Jordan.
My love to Rose, if she remembers me, when you get back.
Again, my hat is off to both of you and to all your team of fellow adventurers climbing for a wonderful cause!!!
Love,
Wilmitchka
