French version
Since a lot of my friends (who speak french) told me they couldn't come on my web page because it was all written in english and they didn't understand, I decided to make a french version on my updates. I will always post in english first and then link the french version on the page, on the right end top corner. When I have time, I will also translate the static pages and link them as well.
I really need all the support I can get and a lot of them told me they wanted to follow my preparations as well as my climb and of course post climb. I hope I will receive messages from everyone, english or french.
Fund Raising
These days are still filled with training and organizing the Super Work Outs (fund raise activities). I have one coming this sunday (april 1st) at my gym. I have another one planned on april 13 and one on may 3rd. I'm almost done with my toothbrushes selling. I'm over halfway to my objective now. I'm really happy with how everything goes. People are soooo generous!
Appointments, meeting, insurance
I'm also up with the planning for insurance coverage, taking an appointment with the doctor and start checking which medication I will need. In a few weeks, we have a meeting planned with the agency organizing the whole trip. It's going to be the first time with the rest of the group. I can't wait to know them and learn more about the coming trip. I have a few questions for the organizers and I can't wait to have a glimpse at the itinerary...
Talk to you soon,
Aeronik :o)

Mary Clare Reinhardt — Thu, 03/29/2007 - 06:31I would be very interested in what type of insurance you end up getting. Also, what type of shots and medication, etc. I have a pretty good idea but it is nice to compare notes. I am not climbing Kilimanjaro with a group; just me and my porter. I have just uped (not a word but oh well) my training and I am feeling very good. Thank you for this update, Aeronik!

Insurance
aeronik — Thu, 03/29/2007 - 06:38I'll come back to you with more details in a couple of days, but one insurance company I went with last november when climbing in Ecuador was "Travel Underwriter". They had good price and good coverage. Up to 5 000 000 CAD dollars, helicopter rescue if needed and also you didn't have to tell them which day you were in altitude. You are covered the whole trip (from the day you leave your country until you come back). This was good and different from other companies I checked with. For medications and shots, check my "Getting ready to go" section for more infos. I'll update it if needed after my appointment with the doctor. Thank you MC for being such a good reader and message sender. I love it!
