I arrived home from Nepal (and Tibet as it turned out) yesterday. (For those that weren’t reading Paul’s blog, he made it to the summit of Mt Everest on May 23rd with no major issues. We then couldn’t get a flight out of Kathmandu until 10th June.) It was great to be sleeping in our own bed again – even though I’ve only been away for about 6 weeks, it feels like forever. Having gotten used to the bustle of Kathmandu, everything here seems foreign now.
Paul and I had lunch with Brad and Tracy today and caught up on what’s been going on with WOMOW. I had seen some of it from an internet café but the speed and screen resolution made it too difficult to have a good look at it. A lot has been done on the main site and Brad has asked a couple of close friends and family to test it out and submit some ratings. Already there are about 60 ratings entered.
For the next few days, I’ll run some more rigorous tests on the main section of the site and then get stuck info coding up the pages for the administration site. Only one page of this has been done so there’s quite a lot to do.
I’m really excited to find that having been away and not seen the WOMOW concept for a long time, it still looks like a really good idea to me. (No doubt Brad was relieved to hear that after spending countless hours on it!) I can’t wait for it to be fully operational with lots of ratings – time to start entering some of mine in!
