From Pheriche to Lobuja

< Newer | Older >

Just b4 arriving in Lobuje . Pumori in bakgroundaltitude: 4900m
weather sunny all day.beautiful.

Wasn’t a bad trek up today giving how sunny it was although did have a small headache but drank plenty and arrived ok. its my first night in a tent due to large numbers of ppl heading to Everst base camp tommorrow there is no room in lobuja lodge, so we have own tents which is great.

Saw more and more mtns such as Nuptse, Pumori mtns and watched a team of 2 scale the 6500m lobuche east mtn. great day for climbing.

So, tomorrow a big day walk to Everest Base Camp, I’m excited but weary bout the altitude and I’m hoping I’m healthy enough to get there n bak. Tomorrow night we stay in Gorak Shep then down to lobuje then onto Dingboche and onto Island Peak. but tommorrow will b an 8 hr day of walking. we may include kala patar at some stage I’m not sure wen.

I’m feeling good , so fingers crossed we get to base camp.

cheers kade

Great photo of you with mountains behind! Great to hear you are feeling better we will be thinking of you tomorrow knowing that you are heading to EBC.... now I am jealous. Good to hear you are keeping yourself motivated with Pete Murray - what about our old favourite "Eye of the Tiger" as a pre-footy game pump up song. Keep up the good work, look after yourself and we look forward to reading more and seeing more photos etc. Lloydy & Max.

It's a long way to the top if you want a sausage roll!

Hi there Kade,
I see you are going to Base Camp-nice work! I have been getting updates from KA and it sounds like quite a challenging adventure you're on! I hope the songs are keeping you company and ur staying positve. I look forward to seeing ur cool photos when you get back and hearing all about it. You have 17 young Woolthorpians following your trek-they're pretty excited for you!
So from all of us, take care and enjoy!
Lori

Great photo

Hi Kade, Sounds like you are doing really well. The photo looks great too! Cheers, Paul.

Fingers Crossed

Hi there HB (Simone is desperate to know what that stands for but I'm not telling - she came up with some very interesting alternatives though - ...she's funny....)

Awesome photo, pity some of the others haven't come through they would have been great to have had a look at. I'm sure all the little woolsthorpian kids would have loved them. Apparently they all want to meet you, they think you're a bit of celebrity but little do they know that you wear socks and sandles and will probably be arrested by the fashion police on your way through customs!!!!! I think I'm funny.....very funny....

I have had everything crossed for you.....legs, arms, fingers, toes and i even made everyone from home and work cross theirs too. Good luck today and I look forward to hearing how the day went.

Take care & just do your best. I know you'll be fine cause you're the most stubborn/determined bloke I know!!

ps.....did I mention that I had a room booked at Mt Noorat for your return.

Miss you heaps (mx5...)
KA
