LOCATION: Moshi town, end of trail
Stay tuned. Yes we hiked off the mt. today. We have some mts. Adventure stories to share but right now it is hot showers, getting the luggage that was lost when we arrived, and getting ready for safari.. Love the blogs. Reading them at dinner is a highlight. Tomorrow safari stories, more Kili stories and time to update on the 4 orphanage volunteers.

Wess - skunk season has begun...
jodibble — Wed, 02/24/2010 - 00:05Hi Wess,
As I was looking out the window this morning making yet another pannini(while I wonder how long this latest food fixation will last and the others drift through my mind; mini ravioli, mac and cheese, hot dogs, cheese sticks, hot pretzels, push ups, boxed potatoes) I see out by the evergreen near the dog kennel a moving black lump. I'm wondering where the dogs are and if they have seen what I see but there they sit on the porch the black lump has not trundled into their line of vision yet and as I bring them in the house I am thankful for small miracles. I did not want to wash skunk oil out of the boys for the first time this year on Feb 23 at 6:45am.
Quinn has a Girls Night Out gig this Friday at the school, a sleepover with Hannah planned for Sat and a soccer tournament on Sunday. She likes to show the picture of Snakey on the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro to anyone who will look.
We hope you see a great collection of animals on the next part of your trip and Snakey might be indigenous to that part of the world so a few pics of him with the local flora and fauna would be nice!
We can't wait to see you get off that plane on Monday night.
Hi to John and all the others joining you on the safari!

Do continue to take care! Soha aka Laughie - human chain didn't work huh? :) Anyway, hope you and the entire team are feeling good, getting a little rest and enjoying. From here - I predict LONG phone sessions to catch up when you get back!

michelle15 — Wed, 02/24/2010 - 01:54Meg,
Congratulations again!!! I just asked Lurch if there is anything he wanted to say to you and his advice is "don't drink the water". Ha ha, I hope you are enjoying your hot shower, you've certainly earned it. I'm looking forward to seeing you and hearing all about your trip. I talked with my sister in law last night and she's wondering if you would like to talk with Drew's Girl Scout Troup about your trip? I think the little girls would love that. What a great role model you are :) Enjoy the rest of your journey!! Have fun and stay safe

pastime26 — Wed, 02/24/2010 - 02:43Hope you enjoyed a hot shower and a nice bed! Now off on Safari (remember the elephant story that happened to Aline and Guy's daughter? Try not to get chased by an angry elephant.
Incidentally, they sent the following email -
"Our congratulations to Dara. Just starting showed great courage and determination and of course she did much, much more than just start."
They're right you know, you've already conquered so many "summits" in your life, while another would have been nice, it can just get in line with the others.
Hope to see lots of Safari pictures. Be safe and have fun.
Love You.
:)
shahruch — Wed, 02/24/2010 - 03:54I'm still so thrilled for ALL of you! I can't imagine how you are all feeling! Must feel kind of surreal to be done with such a huge feat!
Soha - Have an awesome time on the safari and see you next week.. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!! :)
Dad - sorry that you're coming home early, but looking forward to seeing you on Thursday!
Love,
Ruchi
Wess, Label thee Not!
loflemox — Wed, 02/24/2010 - 15:10So this intellectually challenged, au-naturale, non-materialistic friend of yours just did a Power Point for Earth Science on the Mineral Class, Corundum. Know what that is? No, not the war paint you seem to think I adorn (but it does come from minerals), rather, Al2O3 - Rubies and Sapphires! Guess where there are Ruby mines? Tanzania! Fetch me one will ya? And I don't mean dung from your next adventure...Great to hear from your most wonderful wife that you are still the same Wess we've come to know and love, and that the high-altitude accomplishment did not infuse any high-felutant attitudes :) Guess Who?
