To all the climbers - Awesome job so far. Glad to hear you are geting so close and everyone is still in it. All that practice hiking is paying off.
Jim - you sound a little short of breath - heck you always sounded a little short anyway - ha - hope your sense of humor is still intact.
Hope everyone is taking lots of pics and video. I am looking forward to a some sort of fundraiser/picture show so all of us back here can re-live the adventure when you all get back.
French Fries? And No Chicken Wings? What's up with that?
Bless you all.

Its a Kodak Moment. spending our time fruitfully in the labs this afternoon listening to your updates as Steve waits for 3/14 at 3:30pm Dan's telling war stories about Mt Colden, and Steve's gloating about getting a suntan on Tabletop. And Mary Kay's picking out appropiate beer, I mean gear, for Cobb's Hill. Wishing you Godspeed as you journey continues and look forward to seeing you safely home. Dan, Steve and MaryKay.
Hi from your tribe,
It's friday afternoon and all is well! Ryan going to Mimi,s and Patrick going to
a friends Nick..... so just me and Chris...... We are shooting for a record
keeping the fire burning !!! Hasn,t gone out yet. It was ZERO here last nite......
Still got lots of snow but it's suppose to get up to 40 next week so by the time
you get here it will probably be gone..... We are doing good except for some
school work,ya know, I have to try and figure out what, where and when........
so you will probably have to play catch up !!! Patrick is helping out and stepping
up to the plate, and ya know Ryan and Chris are being Ryan and Chris.......
Tho they are going to bed at night and going to sleep!!!!! I threatened them
with writing "I will stay in bed" 50 times (ha,ha)...Anyway it's worked so far!!
I showed them pictures from Google Earth of Mt.Kili (they have lots) and they
were very interested....We love you and pray for your safe return.I hope you are
feeling better ...... Mom and the BOYS...
So cold here in Rochester that my dogs don't want to go outside. Still, I think your climate is more challenging! This is an interesting way to communicate. I'm still adjusting. Hope you get this and I'm doing this right. Glad you enjoyed your french fries. Somehow I don't think they were quite like Tom Wahl's. Renee
LYNETTE --- these where found not in the JOI blog....so hopefully they a not a repeat... there are two messages for you... here they are...and may you and the team enjoythe climb to the summit! Way to go!
Michelle N (Patrick N's wife who is on the trip)
FIRST ONE:
Hi Lynette
Char — Fri, 02/29/2008 - 09:50
Hi Lynette,
I don't know exactly how your preparations are going to wake you for your nighttime climb to the summit, but maybe a flurry of messages will boost your energy levels. Plato would encourage you with, "The best is yet to come". My thoughts mimic his in that your whole experience on the mountain shows one discovery after another and the very best one at the top. Your efforts are giving all of us (those of us not hiking) strength to reach our goals. You see, this is a two way affair. Enjoy peace at the top (that surmountable summit).
Your friend,
Char
SECOND ONE:
Hi Lynette
Char — Mon, 02/25/2008 - 15:02
Hi Lynette,
Thinking of you and wishing you a safe journey. Hope that you are all off to a great start.
Take care.
Char
It was great to hear Jim's voice earlier and to know that the group is still all together. Hang in there; the summit is near! Bonnie, do you feel the push? We are excited at this end, so can only imagine how you must feel. May God's peace be with you all. Love and prayers,
Joan and Jim
It's leap day and the girls are enjoying a tea date thinking about you and checking-up on your climb. There is nothing new going on here. We just finished our first 5 day work week in quite awhile! Oh, your poor, poor teacher friends! Conference days on the horizon.
Paul, all of your wives miss you and hope that you are taking good care of yourself for us. We speak of you regularly.
Really, we miss you both, think of you every day and we are excited to read about your progress. Keep up the good work!
Great to hear your voice! Sounds like it may be time to pull out the alpaca socks! Today I saw at least twenty wild turkeys along the roadside near Allen's Hill. Of course, that made me even more lonesome; but they can't compare to monkeys and elephants, I'm sure. All is well here. Love & Hugs to everyone. Louise
Hi Lynette...Thinking about you each day and praying for everyone's safety and strength.
If you were here your phone would be ringing every day to see if you'd come to work!! ( we are just fine, it always works out) So completely enjoy and cherish every step!! You are inspiring us all.
Love, Meg
Hello you two, It was glorious hearing Jim's' voice today. (Hello Jim) He sounds wonderful and I am so proud that you are all working together. Can't wait to see the pictures of the Barranco Wall. I hope that you are getting a decent rest at night. Can't wait to hear of tomorrow's adventure. Just to let you know that I am delivering your car to your house tonight. I will trample the snow so it looks 'lived in' while you are gone. I hope there isn't too much snow in the driveway. Keeping you in prayer, Love you lots and hug each other for me ;-) !! Love,
Janet (MOM)

Jen says hi called to check on you two today. Keep on climbing the best is yet to come! Gravy on the french fries?? Vinegar?? Beer?? Whatever it takes to keep you all moving!!! You sound like you're having a great time and eating well.......we don't get french fries on our hiking trips down here.....we'll have to talk with the organizer!!! Thinking about you - we talk about you at work daily and send lot's of positive thoughts. Keep on climbin!!!
Thank you ALL for what you are doing. I pray for you all every night. What a tribute to surviors and those who were not as fortunate. One step at a time, one foot in front of the other. Some day we all will be able to live Cancer free.
Thank you
Kathy I.
Hope all is going well with you both! I was just wondering...are you above the clouds yet? I've listened to a couple of the live updates and it sounds as though all is going well. I hope the air is not to thin for you way up there...stay warm and keep up the good work! Are prayers are with you, we'll write again soon.
Sincerely yours,
Preston and your friends at the Harbor
Hi Patrick Tom F called me tonight wanted to know how you & Todd where doing... I told him that you are doing awesome and that you sound really happy and that the group seems to be one big happy family... He wanted me to pass along a message that he wishes you both well and that you have a great time at the summit. Good luck and Congrats on a job well done.
Well there is the messages... have a great climb to the summit... a get your rest! I love you!
Michelle
Great to hear Jim's message today! Sounds like quite an experience. Keep up your strength, know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers! We love you lots! Keep up the good work and stay warm! You are almost there!!!!
Carol Samuel
Diane, I'm glad I scrolled down to see Sam's message. sound of Music is one of my all time favorites and "climb every mountain" is the best for inspiration! You won't have to climb EVERY mountain, but enjoy all the rewards the summit of Mt. Kili will give to you and your Kili comrades. What are we commoners ever going to do without our anticipation of all these updates? You go, girl! all the way to the top!
With every good wish for all you want this climb to be. Can't imagine the kupdates after you see that sunrise.1
We have been thinking and talking about you for weeks now. You're finally able to breathe again. We both love you so. always have. always will. Gretchen & Marty
Wow, getting so close! We are looking up pictures and information on your route to get a feel for where you are. Can't wait to see all of your pictures, too (I'm sure you'll have plenty!). Looks like the summit is going to be a crisp one too! Was great to hear Jim's Message today & thinking of you guys as you make this life changing and spectacular journey!
Love: Mike, Debbie and the kids
We've still been keeping up with the updates. Alot of people/customers asking about you and how the trip is going. Getting impression you weren't feeling well. We obviously missed audio of you and have searched all old audio and nothing. Hope you are feeling ok now. Sounds like your boys are in good hands from the messages. They have alot to be proud of with the two of you! You are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so proud of you for taking on this huge climb for such an important cause. Stay strong, mentally and physically. You're almost there!!!! Tim & Kim
Hey, how's the air? I imagine it's a bit less smoggey than outside TK's pizza on the canal. Are they serving any pizza or Buffalo wings on this trek? Carrie got her whig Wednesday. It is very much like what she had before. She, I believe, is on this trip with you but she is spending way too much energy & is exhausted, but likely in front of where all y'all are. So step lively & keep up the pace. When all y'all git up dare, look Westward & wave. Use the Queen's style, ya know closed hand with a slight gentle twist of the wrist. Be Cool about it. And Look for us we will be waving back. I will likely be wearing a long sleeve shirt. Probably blue. Do you get to toast the event at the pinnacle? What is available, maybe goat's milk?
Thank God all y'all are able to do this & with so MUCH LOVE.
Bye Mrs. B & of course Mr. B.
So you had french fries for lunch! Probably a much better lunch than we got at you know where last week.
I'm out of town for the next week, so won't be communicating... except in my mind and heart. Think of you often. What an inspiration you and all the folks on the climb are for me.
We postponed the traditional office Birthday Lunch until you return. I just caught up on the posts and the audio files. Sounds like things are going great! Wishing you the best as always.
Eric
(Turned 15 just today!)
Jan & Neil are following your progress and are sending their prayers and good wishes. I plan to ski with Nancy & Don in the morning; might as well use this new fluffy stuff we're getting. Good thing you left the great truck so I can get up the hill.
Love & hugs. Louise
Karl,
Just wanted you to know we are following your climb. Your mom is coming over on Saturday to listen to the audio and see the messages. If you can make an audio, I know she would love it. Keep up the good work. prayers are with you all.
Debi Sanford
Hi Jack,
Well, you are almost there. Mike sent me a slide show that Debbie found, it was awesome. It sure gave me an idea of what you have seen and what you will see. I will be thinking of you and praying for you and the team. I love you and I know how much this hike means to you. I am so proud of you. I love you. Love always Patty
hey tina! breathing deep for you here. keep going, girlfriend. is it as exciting as when we sank the boat in the lake? i found some recent sat pics showing a women's restroom/bath at 17,000, an o2 bar at 18,000 and a starbucks just before the summit! not bad! been chatting with pat about your 007 phone updates. sometimes he shares information, sometimes he's too busy watching hockey. i will speak with him tomorrow about priorities. from the sounds in the background the girls appear to be quite healthy. wishing you only well, tremendous love and strength for every step. wish i was climbing right next to you. how proud i am to call you my friend...course i always have been. kisses & joy to swifty and that funny looking paul guy. xxoo, your bestest b
Sounds like you're almost there! Hope you get a chance to check out the stars - they must be spectacular from up there. Good luck tomorrow - you've come too far to turn back now! Just remember to wear clean underwear!
Hi Lynette,
Here's to encouragement, strength, energy, support. I'm pulling for you all the way.
I just knew that the many years we nurses work night shift would come in handy. Starting off to work at 12 M, What's the big deal? That's a piece of cake for you! (Hope that you got a nap, though)
Good luck to you and your team! I am thinking of you all.
Char
Hi Jack,
Well, tonight is the big night. I wish you all the best and I will be thinking of the sunrise we saw together in Hawaii and how beautiful this will be for you to see!!
Debbie and Kathy heard Sadie on the radio yesterday morning, she tried to remember everything Sadie said. It sounded like a great interview. Take care. I love you. Love Always. Patty
You go girl!!!!! You can do it!!!!! I read the updates daily and I can't beleive it's here! Everything is going well here. The girls seem to be doing great. I tell my kids our "Daddy" could never do what Pat's doing. And I know I could never do what you've done. Keep up the great work! It's almost over.
Love,Paula
We are following you all the way. This should be the big day! We hope everyone is able to make the summit. All your practice hikes should really be helping now. Go for it! Love.
We're thinking about you as you summit. We'll be almost as high in altitude today in the 300 section of the Carrier Dome watching SU and Pitt. At least we have our parking spot back! Thanks for taking Woody's name and memory up there. Good luck!
Wow - closer and closer!!! Sounds like you're almost there!!! Keep on movin!!! I can't tell you how inspired I am by your ambitions at this point!!! To reach the top is always the goal but remember - "It's the journey" that counts. And it's been one heck of a journey hasn't it!!!! Waiting to hear about the summit!! (and the journey)
YOU'RE ALMOST THERE!!! I'll keep checking the website for news and will be here cheering you on! I almost wish I was there . . . but I have my personal sunrise each new day with Annalie. Oh, she has a new BFF - Jason. Talk about batting those eyelashes - what a flirt.
One foot in front of the other - you're going to reach your goal! Take our love with you -
Esther,
Hope you and all your companions are revelling in the thrill of reaching the summit! We admire you so much. Emily Flagg, Alice's co-worker who climbed Kili on the earlier trip in Feb, showed Alice her photos yesterday, so now Alice can picture where you are and what you are doing. Gorgeous! We all can't wait to see your photos. Love, Ralph, Alice, Jess, and Zack

Diane IS King! and queen. You have been with Marty & Gretchen

Mrs. B - Mr. B — Sat, 03/01/2008 - 02:40Hey, how's the air?

Marge Elder — Sat, 03/01/2008 - 02:51So you had french fries for lunch! Probably a much better lunch than we got at you know where last week.
I'm out of town for the next week, so won't be communicating... except in my mind and heart. Think of you often. What an inspiration you and all the folks on the climb are for me.
Lots of Love, Marge

Alice.rudolph — Sat, 03/01/2008 - 22:42Esther,
Hope you and all your companions are revelling in the thrill of reaching the summit!
