HI Linda,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the whole group. You are with some extraordinary people so I don't worry too much about you. But I have to tell you something that my dear friend told me. YOU ARE CAPABLE OF MORE THAN YOU KNOW. That goes to the whole group too! Your visiting Mt Kilimanjaro is a glimpse of proof of that. One step at a time. Stay strong.
Loved hearing the audio with comments about Ned. Sounds like you are all well. Praying as the altitude kicks in all of the group will handle it well. ILMbs Big Sis
Hi Aunt "B",
Hope this day went well for all of you. Spoke with Mom and she sends her love.
If you feel something pushing at your back, thats us! We are continuing to pray you up the mountain!
All our love, Annie
Hi Patrick and everyone,
I know you will remember this Patrick ...One of my favorite sayings that gets me through the day and tough times....
“If God brings you to it ... then you can get through it!”
It is true... we are all here routing for you (all of you)! May your next step be a grand one... sending you lots of love, support, faith, hope and tons of energy as you go at your pace up the mountain... Remember: God is walking with you and if you don’t see his footprints well that is because he is helping you walk! Go sing it on the Mountain!
God Speed and rest well!
Love from my heart, Michelle N & Kiernan N

I'm getting ready to go teach prenatal education class tonight. That got me to thinking about pregnancies, and how when a gal first finds out she is pregnant, there is all this excitement and the due date seems so far away. Then as time goes on there is lots of preparation for the big event. Is that how it is with this Kili climb? Lots of excitement and LOTS of preparation for the big event? I often tell my couples that the delivery is their Olympic event. Kili is yours. The climb is the labor (good thing women don't labor as long as this climb takes) and the summit at sunrise will be the crowning glory just as the birth is at the end of labor. Never will get that OB nurse out of me. Still wearing the angel! - even at night EST. Very excited to get all the updates.
We are thinking about you everyday, hoping you are having a fun and safe climb. Our thoughts and love and prayers are with you always, and don't get a blister!
~ Mary and Chuck
I think about you everyday since the day you began this memorable and everlasting challenge! I know you will overcome the mountain and sumit on the last day at dawn and I will be up thinking of you! <3

Hope all is going well. I hope the climb is everything, and more than you expected. Paul, I seen the message Sussane sent yesterday from work. I'm glad they miss you. Service Machine isn't as fun especially when talking about FLOW! Anyways, I hope everyone is holding up, and continue pushing up to the summit.

Hi Jack,
I went to the dinner tonight and heard the African woman storyteller. She was very good. I enjoyed the food, but I am not sure it was exactly real African tasting food.
I know you will be starting your day 3 climb. I hope you are staying healthy and are enjoying this wonderful experience. I love you. Love Patty
I cannot believe the amount of support shown on these blogs! What an inspiration you and your team are for not only us your family and friends but to all the cancer survivors out there. I know you must be quite aways up and reaching the summit any time now. I know you will make it! I know you are pushing yourself to the limit, or close to it, just keep thinking one foot in front of the other. Keep on climbing! I love you. We are praying for you and your friends there.
Just a note to say keep up the good work...You are all an inspiration to everyone back here. I'm with you in spirit. Can't wait to here all about it...Take care. I love "tuning" in every day. Gail
Hi Tina, Dad & I love keeping up with your trek up the mountain hope it continues to go well for evryone as you climb. The mission was at Chruch this week and everybody was checking on you, everyone is very proud of you and can't wait to hear your stories and see your pictures. Pat and girls are doing great, they had dinner here last night. Sara pretty much hung with her Grandpa and uncles yesterday after school. Abby & Erin came with me. I heard all about their red book and the cards. Honey, your somehting else. Enjoy, stay safe and we'll keep you all in our prayers.
Everything is still going great here. Had a dentist appointment today and Annalie happily showed them her teeth too! She was very interested in everything they did and was the perfect visitor. They also have great toys there! This afternoon we stopped by to see Grandie on a trip to the grocery store. That little one can eat! This evening I heard "Nana, where are you?" Talk about a loooong three minutes. Patrick, I spoke with your Mom tonight - she's back safe and sound.
Hope all is going well and you're having an wonderful time. Take care, be safe, and just do ....
Bonnie, Jim and Tom and all the rest of the climbers
I am thinking of all of you every day when I come to this site to hear where you are. I wish I could have been there with you all. But it was not to be so you can tell me all about how wonderful it was when you return.

Hi David
Well just to let you know I had to get the driveway plowed!! I was able to bust out of the end of the driveway with the truck earlier. I was looking at the book for running the tractor but gave up that idea quickly. So many people here are watching this site. You must all feel the caring from everyone back here.
Love you
Be Safe

Ok Patrick you know how goofy/quirky I can be so hear it goes… As Diana Ross or Marvin Gaye sang it but with a twist - I changed some of the words….
"Ain't no mountain high enough 'Cause baby, There ain't no mountain high enough…. To keep me from getting to [the top] [You will] Remember [this] day… 'Cause baby, There ain't no mountain high enough… To keep [you] from getting to [the top] No wind, no rain [Your] love is alive Way down in [your] heart…Although we are miles apart [We are here routing for you] Don't you know that There ain't no mountain high enough…. No wind, No rain, Or winter's cold. Can't stop me baby. oooo baby Cause you are my goal…. Ain’t no mountain high enough…"
Well hope you get my point… it’s late here and I am off to bed and it's about 8 am your time. So as you keep moving to the top… remember…Ain't no mountain high enough! Go get ‘em! I love you!
Michelle & Kiernan
Hi Jack,
If I am reading this right you are now hiking with the Leo Mosho group. I am sure it has been fun exchanging stories. I have this picture in my head of you finishing your 3rd day hike and sitting on your chair enjoying the view.
We are all praying for you and the whole group. Stay healthy and safe. I love you. Love Patty
Hi, Pat! We got a note from Michelle saying that you reached 12,500 feet yesterday and that everything is going as planned. That's great news! We're going up to the lake for a few days so won't have access to the internet, but will be giving Michelle a call on Sunday for an update. Our very best to you and the entire team for a successful, safe trip to the summit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as always. Take care and Godspeed. Love you, Dad & Betsy
We think about you everyday climbing "Kili". Had a great trip to Florida with Mary, Audry and Lysette last week. Had lunch with your Mother one day. Can't wait to hear about your "Adventure in Africa!"

Hi Ned, This has to be an awesome experience of a lifetime for you and your fellow hikers. We are looking forward to hearing about this trip and hope to see pictures. Stay safe and we will see you in a few weeks here at the Villages, FL. You will soon be able to get on your bicycle again. Love,

Hi! Everything is great here - finally got the driveway cleared! Thinking of you and the others and trying to imagine what's happening there. Not long now and you'll be standing on what seems like the top of the world! My thoughts are with you. Good luck and be safe!
Lots of love, Bonnie
Two names on your flag are now accompanying you in spirit- Ben & Millie-- they are passing their strength and courage to you today as you have a difficult climb.
Love the audios- we feel like we are there with you--keep up the good work.
Go Kevin, Go Kevin!!!! Your BRO family PS-- party when you return!
Hi Patrick, Well it is Thursday A.M. here and you are most likely getting ready for dinner... I was wondering if you can see Orion in the night skies of Africa. I remember when you taught about the constellation... the stars there must be incredible and you must feel like you can reach up and touch them now that you are so high up on the mountain. Enjoy God’s beauty and wonder! I looked up Orion on the web and it says that the Orion's Belt is called Drie Konings (Three Kings) by Afrikaans speakers in South Africa... I know you are located in East Africa, just south of the equator but do they call it that in Tanzania? Well the challenge must be kicking in now that the air is thinning... but I know you can do it! You have more strength then you realize. Sending you love and that extra push - I know you can, I know you can! Write in your journal all of it. Give my love to Char, Matt, Robin, Patrick & Todd......and everyone else! We love you Patrick!
Michelle & Kiernan
I close my eyes and try to imagine all the things your seeing and feeling.I know you must be feeling a little tired, your almost to the top!! Thinking of you every inch of the way! Keep going honey!! You can do it!!
Love Jayne
Hi You two,
Well, it was 6 degrees outside this morning. I don't think you are at that temperature yet, and hope you don't get that cold! The sun is shining now and I am thinking of you two watching it set in the west while it shines here in Canandaigua. Everyone is asking about you all, and praying for the entire JOI team. It is quite the education for some as, prior to this, they didn't even know where Tanzania was! The excitement here for you all is extraordinary. Just know that I love you both and can't wait to hear the stories, see the pictures and hug you both. Just remember to keep breathing!! All my love, Janet (MOM)
Parent conferences are next Thursday. Should we conference from there???
Just kidding. We loved seeing the flag. That was AWESOME!!!! You look great and like you are thrilled. Way to go.

Hiya' guys,
Hope you all are feeling well and strong on this 4th (going into fifth) day. We can only imagine what you are experiencing. The girls are GREAT. I'm lovin' it! Get a good night's sleep and may tomorrow bring even more beauty and wonder for you all. Love, Barb
Glad day three went well!! Keep going one step at a time!! Hope you are having fun and enjoying all the beautiful nature (except for the dirty underwear part!!) It was neat to hear your voice on the update!! Uncle Stephen emailed all of us at 4:30 this morning right after he listened to your update. We're all rooting for you!!
Love, Chris
Ned...
Do you need deodorant on a mountain? I would think any smells would be blown right off you.... Don't spare the underwear...We can take up a collection for more when you come back.
We are DELIGHTED that all is going so well.....

Hey you guys!!! How are you doing???
I'm very happy to know you are all doing well!!! I want you guys to know that I'm very proud of you!!! And I wish you all the best!!!
Keep strong and safe... I love you!!!

ps: tom... don't try to do your backpack dance ok?! take care
Love from Rochester! It was 3 degrees this morning, my windshield wipers broke, just another typical day of Rochester in the winter! I'm real proud of you!
It's so exciting to be following your climb! I have a very small idea of what you're experiencing from the book I'm reading, "The Climb of My Life" by Kelly Perkins (a heart-transplant recipient). She climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and many other mountains before and after her transplant...amazing! And you guys are amazing also. I can only imaging the stories you will come back with! You're in our prayers...love and God bless you!
Robin, it was so great to hear you today!!!! and to know that you are getting our messages!!! We had another great day and have a pretty big day planned for tomorrow. Annalie has been invited to take a class along with other 2s tomorrow at the new My Gym that opened here in Waldorf. Then we go to pick up Bobbie from the Metro - she wanted to spend some time with Annalie too - didn't want me to have all the fun. Oh, just wanted you to know, the TV has not been on once. (Who has time?) This afternoon I turned it on to take a look at the weather report and when the picture came on, Annalie said, "That's Oprah!" No TV, huh? heehee.
When you get to the top, be sure to say hi to your Nana. I know she'll be watching you. I am so proud of the two of you. Take care of each other, be safe, and enjoy your grand adventure. (I had to look twice at the picture - didn't recognize Matt with his beard!!! Char looks beautiful as always!)
I just had tears running down my face listening to your voice. SOOOO glad you guys are doing so amazing! AS promised I accomplished my own personal goal of open poetry mike tonight- glad you guys were my inspiration to be challenged! Dave just said Jer was asking for Annalie today. It won't be long now.... Keep up the journey. love to you and patrick.
Rae and I were making up haiku's to send you last night before bed.
This is from Rae-
We miss you Robin
We miss you too PAt- er- rick (insert Rae's giggles at the extra ER in Patrick)
Come home safe and sound
We are thinking of you daily and trying to telepathically send you strength, stamina and oxygen. I would have included warmth but it's below zero here this morning. And what's this I hear about a backpack dance? How come you never showed US? To you and your group we say - Good Luck and Keep it up!
Kim and Fred Stresing
Kim & Tom,
Just a line before I hit the road for work,
You guys did it!!! We'll be on the site tonight when you guys watch the sun come up!! Drink it in..you worked long and hard to be standing there.
Love you guys,

Kellyherman — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 02:24I cannot believe the amount of support shown on these blogs! I love you. We are praying for you and your friends there.

annanana — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 03:51Everything is still going great here.
Love you both,

secrider — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 03:55Hi David
Well just to let you know I had to get the driveway plowed!! I was able to bust out of the end of the driveway with the truck earlier. I was looking at the book for running the tractor but gave up that idea quickly. So many people here are watching this site. You must all feel the caring from everyone back here.
Love you
Be Safe

micmin2c — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 04:15Ok Patrick you know how goofy/quirky I can be so hear it goes… As Diana Ross or Marvin Gaye sang it but with a twist - I changed some of the words….
Go get ‘em! I love you!

Our very best to you and the entire team for a successful, safe trip to the summit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as always. Take care and Godspeed. Love you, Dad & Betsy

micmin2c — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 14:43Hi Patrick, Well it is Thursday A.M. here and you are most likely getting ready for dinner...

JEMStager — Thu, 02/28/2008 - 17:07Hi You two,
Well, it was 6 degrees outside this morning. All my love, Janet (MOM)

mmrickner — Fri, 02/29/2008 - 02:21It's so exciting to be following your climb! You're in our prayers...love and God bless you!

annanana — Fri, 02/29/2008 - 02:52Robin, it was so great to hear you today!!!! and to know that you are getting our messages!!!
