Location: Santa Cruz, Galapagos

After departing San Cristobal we stopped for another amazing snorkel and had the
chance the see a Galapagos Shark along with some marine iguanas and lots more
sea lions. We arrived at Santa Cruz island and checked into the Red Booby Hotel
where we'll be staying the next two nights. We ventured into the highlands to
get a look at the giant Galapagos dome shaped tortoise which can reach up to 500
pounds!! The picture shows Will inside of an actual shell. Before going back to
the hotel we stopped to walk through a lava tube, an underground cave which held
a lava river about one million years ago. Great day!!

Your day sounds amazing! Will thinks a lava tube sounds really cool and hopes you got some pictures! I don't need to tell you his reaction to "the Red Booby Hotel" do I? ;) 11 year old boys are so predictable!

It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Lava tubes and iguanas and giant tortoises! We can't wait to see pictures. My Mom hopes you got some extra adventures with the film crew. She and my Dad send their love! We think about you every day and hope you are having a blast. Easter was great with snow crab dinner and lobster claws and gf chocolate cake for dessert! Hi Alice and Mary Lou,
Sounds like you are having an adventure of a life time. I agree with grandson Will that the name Red Booby Hotel is pretty hilarious but he will get a lot more mileage out of it. We enjoy travelling along with you and hearing of your daily adventures. We are benefitting from summer like temps and sunshine in western NY. Have fun.
